Hai! I mentioned in a previous journal that I wanted to put together a bunch of things/advice I've learned about art and I wanted to share! I may add onto this, but for now, I hope it helps someone! I don't know how much of it is "obvious", but they are important!
1. Don't obsess over "finding your style". Just focus on getting BETTER first, and you'll naturally find it.
This is something that has stuck with me ever since I heard it. I've always been so scared of how people see my "style", and which demographics my work appeal to, etc. I've always been indecisive with what kind of style I want to be known for, and sometimes I still am! But there's a reality we have to come to terms with, and that is that style counts for nothing unless you have the technical knowledge to make it work.
